Bollywood Classic Movies 1990 to Present (Part 1)

More than hundred Bollywood movies release every year but few succeed and rest fails to deliver. Some movies scores Blockbuster status and earn so much revenue but only classic movies remains in our heart and we never get bored after watching that movie so many times. As a kid of 90's I selected some of the classic movies of Bollywood from 90's to present.

1. Aashiqui (1990)

Undoubtedly Aashiqui is one of the best clssic not only for the story but due to the Blockbuster Melodious songs composed by Nadeem Shravan and golden voice of Kumar Sanu due to which it remains a classic movie and the songs wee still popular among youth after 3 decades. The soundtrack album has been rated the 4th best ever by Planet Bollywood on their "100 Greatest Bollywood Soundtracks".

2. Agneepath (1990)

Amitabh Bachchan one of the career best performance as Vijay Dinaanath Chauhaan makes Agneepath as one of the classic movie. Though the movie was a Box Office failure but it remains cult film because of the Great performance of Amitabh Bachchan.

3. Saajan (1991)

Saajan is a 1991 Indian romantic drama film directed by Lawrence D'Souza and starring Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan.  It has gone on to grow a strong cult following, particularly due to its cast and the music. The Music of this album was a blockbuster with many popular songs such as Dekha Hai Pehli Baar, Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai, Jiye toh Jiye Kaise and Bahut Pyar Karte Hai. The music is composed by Nadeem-Shravan and lyrics by Sameer.

4. Khiladi (1992)

Khiladi  is a 1992 Bollywood suspense thriller film directed by Abbas Mustan. The film was Akshay Kumar's breakthrough role and also stars Ayesha Jhulka & Deepak Tijori.  It was Akshay Kumar's first successful movie and was declared a "Super Hit" at the box office.Due to its engaging thriller screenplay it was still most watched movie when aired on Television.The whole album become chartbuster especially "Wada Raha Sanam" remembered as biggest chartbuster of Bollywood.

5. Darr (1993)

Darr: A Violent Love Story is a 1993 Indian romantic psychological thriller directed by Yash Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films starring Sunny Deol, Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan in the lead roles.The film was well received by critics and audiences, earning the film and its actors accolades. It has attained classic status over the years and is regarded as one of Chopra's best.

6. Khalnayak (1993)

Khal Nayak  is a 1993 Bollywood action thriller film produced and directed by Subhash Ghai. Box office India declared the film a "Blockbuster" at the box office it was ranked as the 17th highest grossing Hindi film of all time, adjusted for inflation, in the May 2013 celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema edition of filmfare magazine. The film along with the songs "Nayak Nahin Khalnayak hu main" and "Choli Ke Peeche" have achieved classic status amongst Indian film lovers.

7. Andaaz Apna Apna (1994)

Andaz Apna Apna  is a 1994 Indian comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Kajol and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. The film was an average grosser at the box office, but has since emerged as a cult classic film over the years.

8. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994)

Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!  is a 1994 Indian musical romantic-comedy film, written and directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya, and produced by Rajshri Productions. Starring Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan, it celebrates Indian wedding traditions by relating to the story of a married couple and the relationship between their families; a story about sacrificing ones love for ones family.  It made a lasting impact on wedding celebrations in India, which often include songs and games from the film.Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! is credited as being a defining moment in Hindi cinema's box office history, and the beginning of a revolution in the Indian film distribution system.Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! belongs to a small collection of films, including Kismet (1943), Mother India (1957), Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Sholay (1975), which are repeatedly watched throughout India and are viewed as definitive Hindi films with cultural significance.

9.  Dilwale Dulhaniya le Jaayenge (1995)

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was one of only three Hindi films in the reference book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, and was placed twelfth on the British Film Institute's list of top Indian films of all time. It is the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema.  Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was ranked among The Times of India's list of the "10 Bollywood movies you must see before you die". It was one of three Hindi films in the film reference book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, the others being Mother India (1957) and Deewaar (1975). It was placed twelfth on the British Film Institute's list of top Indian films of all time.It is one of the films on Box Office India's list of "Biggest Blockbusters Ever in Hindi Cinema".

10. Border (1997)

Border is a 1997 Bollywood war drama film based on the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. J. P. Dutta directed and produced this war epic which stars Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Pooja Bhatt, Puneet Issar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Raakhee and Sharbani Mukherjee. The movie is an adaptation from real life events that happened at the Battle of Longewala fought in Rajasthan (Western Theatre) during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and Bangladesh Liberation War. Border intended to make an appeal against war. Thus, the end of the movie of depicted most soldiers dead and the trauma it caused to their family members.The songs of the film are not only popular in India but also in Pakistan.
